Care Instructions for your Partial Denture

Caring for a removable partial denture is essential to maintain its functionality, longevity, and your oral health. Here are care instructions for a removable partial denture:

FAQ'S

How should I clean my removable partial denture?
+

Remove the denture and rinse it under running water to remove loose food particles. Use a soft-bristle denture brush or a toothbrush with soft bristles and a mild denture cleaner to brush all surfaces of the denture, including the teeth, gums, and metal or acrylic parts. Rinse it thoroughly before reinserting.

How often should I clean my removable partial denture?
+

Clean your denture daily to remove plaque and stains. It’s essential to maintain good oral hygiene.

Should I soak my partial denture overnight?
+

It is NOT recommended to soak your partial denture overnight because some of the metal elements can tarnish. Clean your partial denture with a non abrasive brush and a denture cleaning solution.

Can I use regular toothpaste to clean my partial denture?
+

Avoid using regular toothpaste on your denture, as it can be abrasive and may damage the denture. Use a mild, non-abrasive denture cleaner.

How should I care for my natural teeth and gums with a partial denture?
+

Brush your remaining natural teeth, tongue, and gums with a soft-bristle toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste twice a day to maintain their health. Floss your natural teeth at least twice per day.

Can I use denture adhesives with my partial denture?
+

If you use denture adhesives, follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. Using too much adhesive can make it challenging to remove the denture.

What should I do if my partial denture becomes uncomfortable or damaged?
+

Contact us promptly if your partial denture becomes loose, uncomfortable, or damaged. Do not attempt to repair the denture yourself. Please call 833-925-8326.

Are there any eating restrictions with a partial denture?
+

Cut food into small, manageable pieces and chew evenly on both sides of your mouth to prevent uneven pressure on the denture. Avoid very hard or sticky foods that can damage it.
